03/1/22 Daily Sports Wrap Up 

MLB:  Derek Jeter steps down as CEO of the Miami Marlins. 

The deadline for postponing the season has been extended till 5pm this afternoon. Both sides met until 2am this morning and are scheduled to resume talks at 11am. The Player’s Union side has stepped back on many of its demands and state they will not let down on the rest of their needs. Both sides are still far from coming together on an agreement. This story can change at a moment’s notice and if it does I will break the news and give you the details. 


NBA Last Night:  Charlotte gets Buck’d 130-106. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 26 points and 16 rebounds for the Bucks. LaMelo Ball led the Hornet scorers with 24 points, Kelly Oubre Jr finished with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Terry Rozier ended the game with 17 points and 8 assists. Hornets fall to third in the Southeast division. They are back on the floor tomorrow in Cleveland. Tip-off is 7pm. 

Timberwolves take down the Cavaliers 127-122 

Pacers fall to the Magic 119-103 

The Heat cook the Bulls 112-99 

Raptors tear down the Nets 133-97. Largest road win for Toronto since 1998. 

Spurs get flattened by the Grizzlies 118-105. Ja Morant scores 52 points and the buzz for his MVP worthy season is getting louder.

NCAA Men’s Basketball Yesterday:  Syracuse lost at North Carolina 88-79 in overtime. Armando Bacot had a 17 point and 18 rebound double-double, and Brady Manek led Tar Heel scorers with 22 points. Cole Swider had 36 points for Syracuse. 

North Carolina Central falls to Norfolk State 75-46 

Tonight: Duke at Pittsburgh 8pm ACC Network 


NASCAR: This Week: 

NASCAR Cup Series:  Pennzoil 400 is March 6 at the Las Vegas Speedway. Coverage starts at 3:30pm on FOX 

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 4 and Thursday, April 7, at 8pm at the Martinsville Speedway in Virginia
