Local Sports:  The Wolfpack were back in action last night versus New Hanover at Legion Stadium for their home opener of the 2022 season. The game did not end on the side of the Wolfpack as New Hanover took the game 5-2. The game was scoreless till the fourth inning when the Wildcats got the first run of the game, then a three run fifth inning, then an insurance run in the sixth inning for New Hanover. Sean Smith was the pitcher for New Hanover, and he kept the wildcats guessing and off base. When the Wildcats put in their closer in the seventh inning, Whiteville finally crossed the plate two times, but it was too little too late. Fischer Soles was the starter for Wolfpack and held New Hanover in check till the fourth inning.

Laney comes to Legion Stadium on Tuesday, with the first pitch scheduled for 6pm. You can catch every home pitch and away game updates on Kool 103.9 FM radio and streaming at www.Kool1039Radio.com
