Whiteville Varsity Baseball Beats East Bladen

Whiteville Wolfpack versus East Bladen March 22, 2022: 

Whiteville took care of business last night at East Bladen, winning 8-2. Whiteville left Baldwin and Lawson on base to start the first inning. Ty Lawson was on the mound for the Wolfpack and had 10 strikeouts and had some defensive help to keep East Bladen scoreless till the fifth inning. Whiteville caught East Bladen on some sloppy base running a few times. The Wolfpack were aggressive on the bases, taking advantage of almost every past ball. Whiteville had 5 straight steals and had 4 runners advancing on past balls or wild pitches. Luke Odham, Caleb Johnson (2) and Kyler Dowless (2) each had stolen bases.

Bud Baldwin stayed hot at the plate and went 3-3 (3 singles), with 2 RBIs and a sacrifice fly. Luke Odham had a 2 RBI single to center field, Caleb Johnson also had 2 singles and 2 RBIs and Ty Lawson helped his own cause with a stand-up RBI triple and RBI single down the third base line accounting for all the Wolfpack runs. Ashton Hammonds came in the seventh and struck out two to close the door on East Bladen.
