In-person early voting begins Thursday across North Carolina.

In Columbus County, voters have five early voting locations where they can cast a ballot. Any registered voter can visit any polling place during the early voting period.

The early polls are

• Columbus County Board of Elections, 2586 James B. White Hwy. North, Whiteville.

• Chadbourn Municipal Annex, 208 First Avenue, Chadbourn.

• Tabor City Courthouse, 110 W. Fourth St., Tabor City.

• Ransom Event Center, 2696 Gen. Howe Hwy., Riegelwood.

• Fair Bluff Fire and Rescue, 152 Main St., Fair Bluff.

Early polls will be open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Weekend hours will be Sunday, May 1 from 1-5 p.m., and Saturday, May 14 from 8 a.m. -3 p.m.

Voters who missed the registration deadline may register and cast a provisional ballot at any early poll. Registration will not be allowed on Primary Day in May.

A change this year is that mail-in absentee ballots may be delivered by hand to an election official at any early polling place.
