This is a big weekend in the sports world, starting tonight with the NCAA Women’s Final Four. South Carolina will face Louisville at 7pm and UCONN takes on Stanford at 9pm. Both games are on ESPN and both games are guaranteed to be instant classics. The four teams remaining have great defense and any team trying to set up a half-court offense will more than likely be smothered by the great athletes and schemes remaining in the tournament. No matter who wins, the championship game on Sunday will be a doozey.
Coastal Carolina is still hooping in the Basketball Tournament. They will face Fresno State tonight at 7pm.
And just in case you have been under a rock, Duke will Face North Carolina for the first time in the NCAA Tournament. The Tar Heels ended the regular season handing Coach Krzyzewski a loss at the Cameron Indoor Center, ending his regular season coaching career on a sour note. Duke is looking for retribution tomorrow night. Number two seeded Villanova faces number one seed Kansas. The NCAA Tournament championship is Monday night, April 4, in New Orleans Louisianna. Coverage is on CBS.
It is that time of the year again, WrestleMania 38 is doing something different this year. This year it is a two-day wrestling event, with the annual inductees into the WWE/F Hall of Fame (The Undertaker, Rick and Scott Steiner inducted this year). Saturday’s events are going to be headlined by Charlette Flair and Rhonda Rousey in the Main Event. Sunday’s Main Event is Roman Reigns versus Brock Lesner for a Unified Championship. Stone Cold Steve Austin will also be making an appearance or two this weekend. WrestleMania 38 is free on the Peacock streaming service.
And if you did not have enough with all that do not forget it is NASCAR season and the Cup Series is in Virginia at the Richmond Raceway for the Toyota Owners 400. The flag for this short track race is Sunday at 3:30pm on FOX.
I should also mention there are many MLB spring training games this weekend as well. The regular season starts April 14.
So, grab yourself some snacks and cancel any yard work you might have, you already have too much on your plate to take on anymore. If you are looking for permission or someone to tell you to take the weekend off, here it is, I give you the authority and empower you to just take it easy and enjoy the complete spectrum of sporting entertainment.
