Tommy Gordon Sing, 74, of the Pireway Community, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at his home. He was born on October 1, 1947, in Loris, SC, son of the late William Gordon Sing and Mary Ellis Sing.
Tommy was a 1965 graduate of Nakina High School, a US Army Veteran, and a retired dredge boat operator with Cottrell Engineering Corp of Chesapeake, VA.
He coached Nakina Dixie Youth Baseball for many years and loved all the players. He was a fan of dirt track racing, the NC Tarheels, and the Chicago Cubs.
Tommy will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for his family and friends. A very special thanks to Liberty Healthcare and Hospice Services and the girls at Southern Sizzler Restaurant in Whiteville, who were all very special to him.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joanne Long Sing; one son, Tommy Gordon (Christy) Sing, II of Tabor City; one daughter, Brandi Sing (Shannon) McKeithan of Whiteville; six grandchildren, Jennifer Sing (Robert) Spohn, Chandler (Alyssa) McKeithan, Alexis (Mason) Sing, Grayson McKeithan, Mary (Jacob) Sing, and Tomie-Lynn Sing; three great-grandchildren, Caison Spohn, Jayce Green, and Lawson McKeithan; one sister, Mildred Hancock of Whiteville; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby William Sing.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 28, at Dulah Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Tabor City.
