Troy Green legged out an infield single to shortstop to start the fourth inning and get on base. Green then stole second base and moved to third on a fielder’s choice hit by Frank Deleon. The Vikings scored when J.T. Pate ripped an RBI single back through the middle, scoring Troy Green. That was the first run scored against Whiteville since April 1.

Ashton Hammonds was on the mound for Whiteville, and he pitched the complete game. Hammonds had five strikeouts, gave up four hits and one run. The Defense played strong behind Hammonds, including a nice 6-4-3 double play to end a scoring threat by the Vikings in the top of the fourth inning. Hammonds also made a few plays that were hit back at him.

The Wolfpack scored  two runs in the first inning when Bud Baldwin led off the game hitting a double to left field, then Ty Lawson would get a base on balls. Both runners would move up on a bad defensive play by the Vikings. Caleb Johnson would make it to first on a bobbled play by the first baseman. Bud Baldwin and Ty Lawson hustled on the busted play at first and scored on the play.

The Pack would score four runs in the second inning. Grayson Creech had a single to right field and took second base on a wild pitch. Ashton Hammonds would walk; Bud Baldwin would get an infield single to load the bases. Luke Odham would walk scoring Creech from third base. That would bring Ty Lawson to the plate with bases loaded.

That would bring the score to 6-0 in the bottom of the second inning. J.T. Pate got that RBI single in the fourth inning for West Columbus to put them on the board.
