Ronnie “Fuzzy” Spivey, 75, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at home. He was born August 16, 1946, in Columbus County, son of the late David Lloyd Spivey and Jewel Simmons Spivey.
Fuzzy was a commercial clammer by trade but was well known for his many other talents. He was a heavy equipment operator, and could repair any gun, small engine, or boat motor that came his way. He was an avid outdoorsman and a former Boy Scout troop leader. He loved his family deeply, loved animals, and rehabbed injured owls.
He is survived by two sons, Keith (Leanne) Spivey of Clarkton and Josh (Stacy) Spivey of Supply; three daughters, Billie Faye Inman of Old Dock, Jennie (Brock) Lewis of Southport, and Alexis (Blake) Spivey of Maryland; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Spivey Cemetery in Ash, NC, with the Rev. Duane Currie officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 1 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.
