Sgt. Cindy Hammond with Sheila Gatlin and Cynthia Britt.

Sheila Gatlin and Cynthia Britt delivered a gift to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office this past week. They created a diamond art portrait of an officer hugging a child as a thank you gift for staff. Diamond art is a mosaic type of art created by adhering tiny plastic beads “diamonds” to a canvas.

Diamond art is labor extensive, and takes many hours to finish a small project. The artwork now hangs on the wall in the main foyer at the CCSO.

Summer lakeside worship services will begin on Sunday, May 29, at 9 a.m. at the campground pavilion in Lake Waccamaw. Services will run through Labor Day Sunday.

Folks can check out the Lake Waccamaw Community Information Facebook page for the schedule of speakers and singers.
