Homer Lee Spaulding, age 88 of the St. James community in Lake Waccamaw, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at his home.
Homer was born on December 16, 1933, in Columbus County, to the late Okey Harley Spaulding and Esther May Graham Spaulding. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mamie E. Patrick Spaulding; a son, Osceola Homer Spaulding; his siblings, Laura Rivenbark, Bernice Smith, Rosie Cook, and Arson Spaulding.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the St. James Memorial Cemetery, with Rev. Arthur Smith officiating.
Homer worked for the Columbus County Sheriff Departments for 10 years, prior to his employment with the Sheriff’s Office, he worked in the Construction Industry.
Mr. Spaulding leaves behind his two children, Nakoma S. Simmons of the home, Wakita D. Spaulding (Cara) of Red Springs; siblings, Rev. James Norman Spaulding (Meredia) of Lake Waccamaw, Monroe Spaulding of Bolton, Okie Allen Spaulding (Lisa) of Delco, Lula S. Hooks (Tommy) of Lake Waccamaw, Rebecca S. Templin (Charles) of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Brittany Schulman (Joseph), Ervin Simmons, Gina Simmons, Cintara Hundley (Ryan), Malita Spaulding; great-grandchildren, Corrina Schulman, Jerod Schulman, and Maylee Hundley.
