A South Carolina woman died after her Hummer SUV crashed into a Lees Lake home early Tuesday.

Lori Copley, 59, of Camden, S.C. was driving east on N.C. 130 when when her 2005 Hummer went off the road to the left and struck a home near the intersection of Hallsboro Road South and N.C. 130, according to the Highway Patrol. No one in the home was injured. The crash was called in at 1:27 a.m.

Copley was transported to New Hanover Regional by Nakina Rescue. She died at the hospital. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to have played a role in the crash, the Patrol said.

She was the sixteenth road death in Columbus County this year.

Also on Tuesday, a Hallsboro teenager was killed in a rollover crash in Brunswick County that ejected two people. Efren Gonzalez Bahena, 14, died after he was ejected in the crash. Four others were injured, including the driver, Maria Dora Dominguez, 41. Dominguez apparently lost control of her SUV while traveling west on U.S. 74 near Maco.  She was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, failure to maintain lane control, no operator’s license and failure to secure person under 16.

The last fatal crash occurred in May, when a mother and daughter were killed in a headon collision near South Columbus High School. The driver charged in that case sustained significant injuries.
