Man Drowns Saving Child

The second drowning victim in a month has been recovered from Lake Waccamaw.
The 33 year old man went into the water to save his nine year old son after a float drifted away from the family’s boat, Katie Hall of the State Parks said.
The man was not wearing a life jacket.
The victim’s body was found by a drone team, Hall said.
The search teams were guided to the area by a jet ski rider who attempted to help the family.
The drowning was the second on the lake in less than a month. Jeb Baldwin, 18, drowned when his kayak overturned on Mother’s Day. Baldwin was also not wearing a life jacket.
This is a developing story.
