Whiteville’s own “Sultans of Swat” are on the way to Burlington to face undefeated Randleman for the state 2A baseball championship.
The Wolfpack was escorted through Whiteville today, from the home field at Legion Stadium past crowds at Whiteville Primary and Edgewood Elementary. The team bus and an entourage of fans and family then made their way up Madison Street from Lee and Franklin.

Several businesses downtown were showing their Wolfpack spirit with decorated windows and displays as the small but enthusiastic caravan headed through downtown. Family members and diehard fans had messages of support on the sides and windows of their vehicles, most of which were headed straight out of town on the three-hour road trip to Burlington.
The Pack will play tonight at 7 p.m., followed by another game at 2 p.m. tomorrow. If a third game is required, the teams will match up underneath the lights at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Here are some of the Backers of the Pack on their way through downtown.
