Edward Samuel “Ed” King 84, of the Old Dock community, Whiteville passed on Friday, July 22, 2022. He was born July 12, 1938 in Brunswick County, the son of the late William Nesby King and Rebecca Ann Cliff King, His wife, Maxine Blackmon King preceded him in death in 2017. Also preceding him in death are sisters, Faye Danford, and Aileen King, brothers, Vaughn King and Thomas King, son-in-law Johnny Faulk, Cindy Williamson.
Mr. King was a foreman, machinist and tool designer at Council Tool Co. for many years. He was a veteran having served in the US Army. He was an avid fisherman, gardener and wood worker.
He is survived by two sons, Ricky King (Sheila) of Bolivia, Jeffrey Scott King of Whiteville; three daughters, Pamela Dutton (Scott) of Ash, Deborah DelSorbo (Tony) of Whiteville, Crystal Faulk of Nakina; three brothers, Arthur King, Robert King and Ronnie King all of Leland; three sisters, Rosie Evans of Bolivia, Annie Lou Ezzell of Clarkton, Blanchie Parton of Wilmington; grandchildren, Daniel Butler, Michael King, Andrew White, Lindsey Buck, Amanda King, Mathew King, Andrea Dutton, Gracie King; great grandchildren, Randall Buck, Dillon Butler, Gavin Butler, Allison Buck, Kinleigh Butler, Brynlee Buck, Kyleigh King, Preston King.
His funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Old Dock Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ken Sides officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
His family will receive friends 12:00 – 1:00 pm Tuesday prior to his service at the church.
