Candidates Welcome on Columbus Connection

All candidates on the November ballot are welcome to participate in one-on-one episodes of the Columbus Connection.

The public affairs program airs at 10 a.m. on Saturdays on WTXY, and is available as a podcast through the Columbus County News website the rest of the week.

Our goal is to allow every candidate 15 minutes of unscripted free air time to describe their qualifications, plans if elected and motivations for running for elected office. There is no charge for the program, and participation is not contingent on paid advertising.

We have reached out to both the Republican and Democrat parties in Columbus County. Unaffiliated, Libertarian and Green party nominees who hope to represent Columbus County are also welcome.

When possible, we will run opposing candidates for the same office during the same program. The scheduling will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.

Contact Managing Editor Jefferson Weaver at 910.914.6056 or email to schedule your slot. The deadline for recordings is Sept. 23 at 5 p.m.
