Stella Evans passed on Saturday, August 6, 2022 in Duke University Medical Center, Durham. She was born in Bladen County, the daughter of the late Varnum and Gory Fowler Long. She is the widow of the late Buddy Evans.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois Lee and husband, James of Whiteville and Sherry Stubbs of Whiteville; two sons, Johnny Long of Whiteville and Roger Reaves and wife, Jo Ann of Nakina; a stepson, Virgil Christian, Jr. and wife, Betty of Lumberton; a special friend, Virgil Christian; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and stepdaughter, Margaret Christian.
Funeral service will be conducted 4:oo pm Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Peacock’s Chapel by Rev. Daelan Rittenhouse. Visitation will be held 3:00-4:00 pm at Peacock Funeral Home.
