A fan favorite and fearless foursome will grace the big screen as Movies on Madison returns for the summer season. The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville will present Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Friday, May 19, at 8 p.m.
Through contact with a mysterious ooze, four turtles in the sewers of New York mutate into intelligent pizza-loving humanoids – Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello and Michelangelo. They are mentored in the art of ninja combat by the wise rat Splinter, and when the evil Shredder attempts to take over the world, the turtles set out to stop him.
The films are hosted in partnership with the Columbus County Arts Council, and the free outdoor event features family friendly movies every third Friday of the month from May through September.
The museum lawn opens at 7 p.m., and the movie starts at dusk. Early arrivals can enjoy educational activities for kids. Refreshments will be available for purchase. This is a family-friendly event, so the museum asks that no pets, coolers, alcohol or smoking be allowed on the premises.
The next movie Finding Dory will be played on Friday, June 16. Films for the rest of the season will be determined soon and start times will vary for each event.
