Local first responders and medical professionals are joining forces Friday to commemorate the events of 9/11, and promote healthier lifestyles for both public safety personnel and the general public.
Whiteville Police and Fire, the sheriff’s office and the Highway Patrol with Columbus Regional’s Donayre Cancer Center to host a health wellness fair Friday from 1-4 p.m. at Vineland Station.
There will be Kona Ice, giveaways, educational booths, health screenings and information about community resources. Registration for the Battle of the Badges cornhole tournament ends at 1:30 p.m., and the contest begins at 2 p.m.
The event is tailored toward first responders, but the public is welcome as well.
