Many public outreach and resource information organizations are coming together on Wednesdays to bring aid to those in need in the area. Community CPR (CCPR) is partnering with Catholic Charities, W.A.R.M., Flourishing Families at Coastal Horizons, Mt. Calvary Center for Leadership, and disAbility Resource Center for Wednesdays at the Warehouse.
On Wednesday afternoons from 1-4 p.m., those in need can drop in at Community CPR without an appointment. CCPR is a disaster relief organization that coordinates, collaborates, and connects clients, donors, volunteers, and other facilities. They share donated items whenever possible, and sponsor programs to improve people’s lives after a crisis, trauma, or natural disaster.
Catholic Charities provides help for poverty-stricken individuals by supplying them with food, diapers, feminine hygiene and incontinence products. W.A.R.M. accesses, repairs, and rebuilds homes to make them livable again for the elderly and low-income families, while Flourishing Families at Coastal Horizons provides services to those who need therapy, crisis management, substance abuse counseling and support and skills training to promote recovery and support healthy families.
The last organization, disAbility Resource Center, empowers persons with disabilities to become and maintain their independence in their communities. The center provides services to people of all ages with all types of disabilities and support to those who helped them.
All these resources are available to folks at Wednesdays at the Warehouse. If you or someone you know needs help or intervention, call CCPR at 910.207.6929 or text them at 910.625.7221. Donations are always needed at CCPR. They often distribute food, toothpaste, paper products, and furniture. The warehouse is located at 210 East Walter Street in Whiteville.
