Someone stole a school bus from West Columbus High School during the overnight hours on Monday, the sheriff’s office reported. A second bus was damaged.
The sheriff’s office reported that a driver contacted the principal and school resource officer around 5:50 a.m. The driver went to the school to start her normal route, and discovered her bus was heavily damaged and the second bus was stolen.
While the damaged bus was being repaired, the report said, the stolen bus was located and returned to the school. The driver managed to complete her route, and the second bus was back in service later in the day.
The investigation is continuing.
