Born on August 24, 1949, in Lumberton, NC, Cleveland was the son of the late Melvin Bethea and Millie B. McKinnon. He was preceded in death by his son, Cleveland D. Gaddy; sisters Shirley Gaddy and Helena Gaddy; uncle JT Bethea; aunt Helen Bethea; and nephews Nicholas Bethea and Jarvis McKinnon
A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the Chapel of D&A Funeral Services 212 South Wilkes Street, Chadbourn.
A service will be at 1:00 pm held on Friday, December 1, 2023, in the Chapel of D&A Funeral Services 212 South Wilkes Street, Chadbourn.
Cleveland is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Linda Gaddy; four children Frances L. Thomas (Lonnie), Danyeal K. Thomas, Heather D. Gaddy, and Tanica N. Lopez-Davis (Brandon); twenty-one grandchildren Devona Duncan, Tierra Thomas, Terance Gibson Jr., (Denichia), Tayrell Gibson, Drew Gaddy, Dequandon Maultsby, Savon George, Kayla Norris (John), Mary Jones, Tashammie Gaddy, Loren James, Nia Lopez, Bethany Yates, Tamia Gaddy, Tiara Gaddy, Tanina Gaddy, Jaiden King, Joshua James, Tyler Gaddy, Kaleb Humpherys, Jordan Hampton; six great-grandchildren; six siblings, Burnice M. Gaddy (Annie), Evie “Eva” Samuel, Kenneth R. Gaddy (Monica), Darlene Bethea (Roscoe), Nancy C. Cokeley (Harry), and Levone McKinnon; and a host of family and friends.
