Rifles Accidentally Left in Vehicles

Two West Columbus High School students were turned over to their parents and two hunting rifles seized at the school Monday.

The sheriff’s office reported that two rifles were found in separate trucks on the school grounds just before 11 a.m. The owners of the guns, ages 16 and 17, told officials that they forgot to remove the rifles after going hunting.

The weapons were seized, and the teens turned over to their parents. No charges have been filed.
