The Southeastern North Carolina Genealogical Society will hear from Linda Conkey Shaw on the Jacobs family this satuirday.
The society will meet at Whiteville Alliance Church, located at 623 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. Some members and visitors arrive early to share family histories.
An avid genealogist since 1992, Shaw began her journey in Cleveland, Ohio, and derived her passion for family history from her paternal grandmother and her father. She will be speaking on the Jacobs family of southeastern North Carolina, particularly, Noah and Keziah Jacobs and their large family, and on her extensive research and collaboration with others.
Prior to Covid, she ran a small business that helped connect families through both genealogy and technology. She lives in Taylors, S.C., with her husband of 43 years, Mark.
