Hilda Rae Mills Norris, age 88, died Thursday, December 14, 2023 in Grand Strand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC. Born January 4, 1935 in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late David Paul Mills and Doris Lee Stephens Mills.
Ms. Hilda was the visitation hostess at Inman Ward Funeral Home for over 35 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Sherry McPherson and husband Mike of Tabor City, NC; one son, Billy Dean Norris and wife Sarah of Tabor City, NC; three grandchildren, Michelle Lupo, Cassadee Norris, and Emily Norris; three great grandchildren, Bethany Lupo, Logan Norris, and Katlyn Cartrette; and one sister, Nancy Turner of Conway, SC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Vernon “Bill” Norris; two brothers, Larry Mills, and Tony Mills; three sisters, Melba Watts, Barbara Grainger, Clara Mills; two grandsons, Coby Dean Norris, and Clayton Norris.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the New Life Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Spivey Cemetery, Will Inman Road, Tabor City, NC.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
