Dear members of the public,

As the Sheriff of Columbus County, I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication to the Sheriff’s Office throughout the year. Your trust and encouragement have been instrumental in our continued success.

First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the exceptional staff of the Sheriff’s Office. Their hard work, unwavering dedication, and commitment to serving our community have been truly commendable. Without their tireless efforts, we would not have been able to achieve the milestones we have this year.

Speaking of accomplishments, I am thrilled to share with you some of the remarkable strides we have made. One of our major achievements was the implementation of an inventory management system. This innovative system has revolutionized our ability to track inventory, resulting in more efficient resource allocation and ultimately enhancing our service to the community.

Furthermore, we have taken significant steps to improve security within our jail facility. Outdated locks have been replaced with cutting-edge technology, ensuring the safety of both inmates and staff. This upgrade has been crucial in maintaining a secure environment for all.

Our commitment to Animal Services has also been a top priority. We have made substantial improvements, including the installation of a washing station, the acquisition of humane animal handling equipment, and the creation of a meet and greet room. Additionally, we have updated our procedures and protocols to enhance animal safety and increase adoption rates. These efforts reflect our dedication to the well-being of our furry friends and our commitment to finding them loving homes.

In our continuous pursuit of excellence, we have expanded our workforce by adding positions to both patrol and the detention center. This not only creates job opportunities for the residents of Columbus County but also contributes to making our county a safer place to live. I am proud to share that the Sheriff’s Office is now almost fully staffed, a remarkable achievement that has not been seen in years.

As we move forward, we remain steadfast in our mission to serve and protect our community. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents. Your support and trust are invaluable to us, and we are committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Once again, I extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support. Together, we have achieved great things, and I am confident that our future endeavors will be even more remarkable. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. We are here for you, always.

With warm regards,

Sheriff W. A. Rogers
