Blenda Dale Freeman Mitchell, 65, of Lake Waccamaw, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. She was born in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Billy Jacobs and Retha Freeman Jacobs. She worked as a home health care aide.
She is survived by her husband, Ricky Mitchell; two sons, Delane Mitchell (Christy) of Chadbourn and Levell Mitchell (Heather); a niece, Kaneesa Dutton of the home; two brothers, Jim Freeman of Wilmington and Stevie Jacobs (Belle) of Buckhead; three sisters, Penny Sanchious (Willie) of Saint Pauls, Beth Jacobs of Buckhead and Rena Spaulding (Jason) of Buckhead; five grandchildren, Dakota Mitchell, Bailey Patrick, Peyton McPherson, Kiley Bordeaux and Sierra Mitchell; two godchildren, Jasmine Brown and Harmony Bryant; and two great grandchildren, Kasey Graham and Elias Graham.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Retha Freeman Jacobs; stepfather, R.C. Jacobs; and two sisters, Addie Clark and Karen Clarida.
Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Freewill Holiness Church in Lake Waccamaw by Pastor Lucy Young, Elder Calvin Parks, Rev. Victor Jacobs, Rev. Zachary Jacobs and Rev. Michael Jacobs. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 pm at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
