Talking during court – and laughing at a bailiff—earned a woman three days in jail Thursday.

Tara Nicole Nobles, 34, was appearing in district court on traffic violations, according to court documents. Susan Blair Rabon, 37, is facing drug charges.
The citation chows that both was warned repeatedly not to talk while court was in session. When approached by a deputy with a final warning, the citation said, both Rabon and Nobles “laughed at the deputy” when he told them again to stop talking.
District Court Judge Heath Nance charged both women with contempt and ordered them to spend three days in the county detention center.
Nobles listed addresses in Leland and Whiteville on court documents. Rabon gave her address on court documents as 4361 Andrew Jackson Hwy. SW., Chadbourn.
