Yvonne Packer Smith, age 67, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center, with her family by her side. Yvonne was born on September 10, 1956 in Columbus County to the late Levy Packer and Doris Bullard Packer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother; Benjamin Levy Packer.
Yvonne worked for over 20 years as a receptionist and secretary at Well’s Auto.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband; Phillip Alan Smith, Sr., daughter; Misty Diane Hardee of Guideway, grandsons; Jacob Tyler Singletary and Jackson Thomas Hardee, sister; Gwen P. Godwin of Crusoe, brother; Sandy Theodore Packer of El Paso, TX, stepsons; Phillip Alan Smith, II of Wendell, NC and Joseph Aaron Smith of Conway, SC, step grandchildren; Ashley Grace Smith, Allyson Brooke Smith, Katelynn Elyse Smith, Joseph Aaron Smith, Jr., Ashton Liam Smith, Audrey Leanne Smith.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, in the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ricky Bourne officiating. Burial will follow in Pierce Cemetery, Hallsboro, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 pm prior to the service.
