Mildred Louise Bordeaux Smith, age 94, of Delco, NC passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House, Whiteville, NC. Mildred was born on March 22, 1929 to the late Winslow Francis Bordeaux and Sadie Davis Bordeaux. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Jesse Smith, her sisters; Betty Johnston and Nancy Heath and grandsons; Nathan Dale and Ronnie Long, Jr.
Mildred was a member of Livingston Baptist Church, Delco, NC.
Left to cherish her memories are her four daughters; Linda Dale (James), Carol S. Trump (Ricky), Laura S. Malpass (Jerry) all of Delco, NC and Rhonda S. Greiner (Freddie) of Bolivia, NC, a brother; Billy Bordeaux of Hallsboro, NC, 14 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren and 12 Great Great Grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Livingston Baptist Church on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Matthew Griffin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm prior to the service.
The family will like to thank the Nurses, CNAs, Chaplains and staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the excellent care they gave as well as caregivers: Marjorie O’Brien, Penny Blake, Sharon Kelly and Becky Denton.
