Almost exactly four years after Joshua Blake Teder’s death, Nigel Tasheem Bracey was sentenced to prison for second degree murder today (April 5).
Bracey, 35, pleaded guilty to second degree murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, and habitual felon in Columbus County Superior Court before Judge C. Ashley Gore. He was sentenced to 29 to 36 years in prison.
Tedder was found in his wrecked car on Hallsboro Road South on April 7, 2020. Firefighters called the sheriff’s office after they discovered Bracey had been shot multiple times. He later died at an area hospital.
Bracey was arrested April 10, 2020, at his home on Honey Hill Road.
Court records show Bracey also pleaded guilty to a charge of assault with a deadly weapon in a case that occurred at the county detention center in November 2021, while he was in custody.
