May 18, 1938 ~ April 2, 2024 (age 85)
Elaine Duncan White, age 85, of Whiteville, NC, passed away peacefully at Lower Cape Fear Angel House, Whiteville, on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. She was born to the late Margaret Duncan Davis in Columbus County on May 18, 1938 and raised by the late William A. Duncan and Sally Little Duncan. In addition she is preceded in death by her husband; Richard Hosea White, Sr. and four sisters and two brothers.
Elaine was a LPN and worked in home healthcare for several years. She was a member of Western Prong Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Sharon Elaine Beverley, Keith Beverley both of Whiteville, and Pamela B. Cutchin of Chadbourn, a sister; Shirley D. McCleney of Chadbourn and a half sister; Mary D. Breeden of Richmond, VA, five grandchildren; Heather, James Bryan, Kevin, Josh, and Kayla and five great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Willard McPherson officiating. Burial will follow in Western Prong Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at McKenzie Mortuary from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
