Pecan Harvest Festival Rebrands with Focus on Music

Whiteville’s largest festival will have a new look – and sound – this fall.

Madison Ward of Whiteville Downtown Development Commission announced via social media today (Tuesday) that the N.C. Pecan Harvest Festival will now be the N.C.  Pecan Music Festival.

“We are extremely excited for all the new events that will be a part of the year’s festival and look forward to creating new traditions in Downtown Whiteville,” Ward wrote.

The event is set for Nov. 2. The new music festival will include free downtown concerts by three bands: Julio and the saltines, Thomas Road and the Southside Saints.

WDDC is finalizing vendor applications and other plans, Ward’s post said.

“Although we will not be having a Pecan Festival parade this year,” she rote, “we are thrilled to continue the tradition of hosting a car show and will be making improvements for a bigger and better kids block.

“Great things are happening in Downtown Whiteville and we look forward to celebrating with you all.”
