April 4, 1969 ~ May 6, 2024 (age 55)

Amy Dinine Connor Canady, 55, of Cerro Gordo died Monday, May 6, 2024 at her residence.

Amy was born in Columbus County to the late James Riley Connor and Doris Long Strickland. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Angela Connor and step-father, Heck Strickland.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Tim Moore officiating. Amy never met a stranger and was loved by many due to her charming charisma. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, she would give you the shirt off her back if she knew you needed it. She overcame a lot in the last years and taught many resilience and strength, her testimony was inspiring to everyone that witnessed it. She will be missed but she will always leave a mark on the world to live through, due to all the lives she touched during her years here on this earth. One thing everyone knew about Amy is she will feed you every time she sees you, she had a never ending pocketbook of snacks and for this reason she was the grandkids favorite. Any child she met she instantly made friends with due to her pocketbook of candy and toys. She was such a giving soul and that is a trait we can all learn from, kindness.

Amy also loved to travel especially to the mountains, her spirit will be amongst the beautiful sunsets and sunrises of the mountains on a quiet fall evening, as this was one of her favorite places. Her spirit will live on a beach, on a warm inviting summer afternoon. She will be the wind through your hair on the back of a motorcycle as she was just as much of a free spirit as the wind. She was never afraid of having a good time, that will always carry on.

She will be missed but never forgotten.

Amy leaves behind her daughter, Jennifer Norris (Nathan) of Whiteville; grandchildren, Riley Canady and Harley Hinson.
