William Donald Pope of Riegelwood, NC passed away on June 18, 2024. Donald was born October 11, 1936 in Columbus County, NC, the son of Thaddeus Ollen Pope and Letha Barefoot Pope.
He is survived by his wife, Velma Carroll Pope, and his daughter, Tanya Elizabeth Pope of Atlanta, Georgia. He retired from International Paper in 1999. Donald was a member of the Riegelwood Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid golfer and loved the outdoors.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cameron Lewis officiating, followed by the burial at Lake Waccamaw Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm at Peacock Funeral Home prior to the service.
