A video gambler not only didn’t strike it rich, but can no longer play at an area store.
Deputies were called to Service Plus at 2465 James B. White Highway Saturday to handle a disturbance. Lashanda Gowans told deputies that she had previously won a $3,800 jackpot, but the store clerk only paid her $300. She said she was asked to return to the store July 12 to pick up the rest of her winnings.
Deputies spoke with Teresa Britt, the owner of the machines. Britt told deputies that Gowans did not win the jackpot. Since Gowans was making a scene, Britt asked that Gowans be banned from the store.
No charges were foiled in the case.
