City and county school board filings are underway, but filings have been slow in the first week of signups.
County District Five incumbent Steve Long has filed for reelection. In the District One race, where Randy Coleman currently serves, no one has filed.
Jackie Ray Pierce filed for the city District Three seat currently held by Kandle Rogers. A 12-year veteran of the city board and former chair, Rogers is not running for reelection.
Incumbent Greg Merritt has also filed for reelection for the District Five school board seat in the city.
For the Soil and Water Conservation board, Gary Simmons has filed for reelection.
Deadline for filing is Aug. 5.
