Browntown Home Struck by Multiple Shots

No one was injured when a home in Sandyfield was damaged by gunfire Monday.

Deputies were called to 1043 Browntown Road, near the county line, at 4:30 p.m. Teresa Carter told deputies that two unidentified black males drove past the home and opened fire.

Carter and four other people, including a nine-year-old, were inside at the time.

Dep. J. Lennon reported finding “multiple shell casings and rounds” in the road in front of the home, as well as one bullet inside.

The case is under investigation.

In an unrelated case, Whiteville Police are still searching for the suspects who shot up two homes on West Lewis Street Aug. 13. No one was injured, bout two homes in the 400 block were hit by handgun and rifle fire. Windows, a refrigerator and multiple windows were damaged.
