LPR Cameras Tag Murder Suspects

Two suspects in a Loris murder were arrested in Chadbourn with the help of the town’s Flock licenses plate reader cameras (LPR).

Zarius Oshea Vereen, 31, and Ebony Shanell Vereen, 32, were arrested at 147 McDuffie Lane, the sheriff’s office said. Both were wanted for a shooting in South Carolina. They were held without bond pending transportation to South Carolina.

Chadbourn Police called for backup after the LPR alerted police to a light green truck wanted in connection with the shooting.

Feleisha Goodman (CCSO)

The Vereens were the second and third Columbus suspects jailed in the shooting. Feliesha Goodman was arrested in Tabor City by narcotics agents checking road conditions ahead of Tropical Storm Debby.

Keneisha Martin, 22, died in a shooting near the Loris Bojangles Aug. 7. A second woman was injured but is expected to recover. Martin was from Greensboro, according to Loris Police. Also charged in the incident were William Goodman, Antonio Goodman and Lilly Stephens.

All six suspects are charged with murder and attempted murder.
