Terry Dale Ward, 65, of Hallsboro passed away peacefully on Monday, August 26th, 2024, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. He was born on November 21st, 1958, in Whiteville, NC to the late Thomas Allen Ward and Gladys Dew Ward.
Terry, also lovingly known as “Hardhead”, always had a strong work ethic, whether on the job or at home. He loved spending most of his time outdoors, from family trips in the mountains to fishing and crabbing at the beach. He was known locally for his talent in baseball at Hallsboro High School. He had a big heart when it came to his family, and his animals. Nothing made him happier than grilling for family and friends. He spent his career working as a boilermaker, iron worker, and saw mill wright until his retirement. He would help anyone that he could and wanted no recognition for his help.
His funeral service will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 3:00pm in the Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Ricky Martin officiating.
His visitation will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 2:00pm at Peacock Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Peacock’s Columbus Memorial Park.
To cherish his memory, Terry leaves behind his wife, Sherry Gore Ward; two daughters, Chelsey Ward Duncan and Courtney Summer Ward (Jeff McDowell); three grandchildren, Aiden Duncan, Kaidence Duncan, and Abel Duncan; one brother Thomas Earl Ward (Jenny), two sisters Cheryl Williamson (Larry), and Gay Strickland (Dan); and many loved nieces and nephews.
