William “Billy” Henry Jeffries

August 7, 1949 ~ August 25, 2024 (age 75)

William Henry Jeffries, Jr. lovingly known as Billy, died on Sunday, August 25, 2024, in McLeod Loris Hospital; he was 75 years old.

Billy was born on August 7, 1949, son of the late William Henry Jeffries, Sr. and Frances Augusta Owens Jeffries. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Marie Jeffries Freeman; a son-in-law, Chad Pack; siblings, Eddie Jeffries and Jimmy Jeffries.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Worthington Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Johnson Family Cemetery (B.J. Drive Clarendon). Pastor Russell Long will officiate.

Billy was an avid sports fan; his favorite team was the “Redskins”, now known as the Washington Commanders. He enjoyed playing golf and softball, which he played from age 4 until age 45. While residing in Virginia, Billy’s buddies gave him the nickname “Wimpy”.

Most of all, Billy enjoyed spending every moment he could with his grandchildren, earning the nickname “pops”.

The surviving family includes his wife, Kim Spivey Jeffries of Clarendon; children, Anthony “Tony” Jeffries (Jaime) of Virginia, Allison Rene Jeffries of Loris, Lindsay Michelle Jeffries (Justin Esham) of Clarendon, Kendall Ray Fowler (Haley) of Clarendon; siblings, Roger Jeffries (Robin) of the Plains, VA, Florence J. McCauley (Ronnie) of Baltimore, MD; a son-in-law, James Freeman; grandchildren, Matthew, Mason, Dalton, Lorraina, T.J., Caleb, Claire, Baron, Kylie, Brenden, Damien, Alaric, Kenley, Saylor, Marlee, and one on the way; great-grandson, Jericho.
