Mary Jo was born on August 13, 1944. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Small; son, Dwayne Ward; and four siblings, Edison Fowler, Elton Fowler, Dale Fowler, and Hilda Gray Nealy.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at New Life Baptist Church in Tabor City with Reverend Timmy Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Myrtle Green Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held prior to the service from 3:00-3:45 p.m. at the church.
Mary Jo is survived by her two sons: Timothy “Timmy” Ward (Christina), Rodney Ward (Dawn), all of Tabor City; brother, Danny Fowler of Tabor City; seven grandchildren, Brandon Ward, Meredith Ward, Donovan Ward, Kaitlyn Ward, Carter Ward, Joe Frank Rich II, and Lewis Eugene Rich; and nine great grandchildren.
