Rain Alters Football Schedules

HS Football

The Thursday night lights didn’t shine bright for two of the three county football teams that moved their games due to the forecast rain for tonight.

Whiteville brought a win home Thursday from Clinton, dropping the Darkhorses 42-7. It was the fourth loss out of four games for the Clinton team. The pack is off next week.

East Columbus lost a hard fought game to West Bladen, 26-19. The Vikings of West Columbus lost their game with St. Pauls Thursday, 0-55.

The one local team with play remaining this week is South Columbus. The Stallions take on the 0 and 3 Union Spartans tonight at 7 at Union in Sampson County.
