Good evening, Meteorologist Christopher Cawley here with your evening weather update.
Strong high pressure directly over the Carolinas will dominate our weather through the weekend. It’s going to be an absolutely gorgeous weekend with wall-to-wall sunshine and highs into the lower 80s.
Warm weather continues on Monday with more sunshine… but a strong cold front will cross the area during the afternoon. This will bring a cloud or two along with some breezy conditions, but no rain is expected.
Temperatures drop to below seasonal norms for the middle part of next week. Average highs should be in the mid 70s with lows in the lower 50s… but our actual highs will be stuck in the upper 60s with lows in the lower to middle 40s Tuesday-Thursday next week. There is still no rain in sight as another large high pressure center takes charge. Some of the longer range modeling (through October 25) shows a continuation of much below normal rain chances.
Contrary to what TikTok and Facebook users are sharing, there is no tropical development expected in the Gulf or along the east coast over the next 7-10 days. Instead of automatically “sharing” what random social media users are posting, check out official sources such as the National Hurricane Center instead.
Ok that’ll do it for this update, I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend. Get outside and enjoy it.
