Online gambling rose in North Carolina in October, the state’s lottery commission said today (Nov. 14).
The N.C. State Lottery Commission revenue report for October details bets placed, payouts and revenues to the state. State law requires gamblers using the eight approved betting firms placed $612,046,491 in October. In September, online gambling in North Carolina brought in $575 million.
October payouts totaled $560,674,740, producing a gross revenue of $48,659,761. That produced $8,758,757 in taxes for the state.
September saw bets of $575 million, with $501 million in payouts. The state’s take during that month was $12.6 million on gross revenue of $70 milion.
