Attempted murder and maiming charges have been filed against a Bladen County woman who allegedly stabbed a man with a screwdriver, and chewed off part of his nose.
Sandra Lynette Davis, 53, of Fayetteville, ius being held under no bond. She was charged with attempted murder, felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, felony maiming, and other charges. She is being held in the Bladen County Detention Center.
Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker said in a press release that a volunteer at the White Oak Volunteer Fire Department called 911 after a car with a man and woman pulled up at the station. The male was being actively assaulted by the woman, the report said.
Deputies arrived within minutes, and found the victim, whose name has not been released, with serious injuries to his face and head. Part of his nose had been bitten off, the report said, and he had been “stabbed multiple times with a screwdriver.”
The victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Hospital, where he was admitted for several days. He has since been released and is expected to recover, the report said.
Davis was treated and released into custody at Bladen County Hospital with no injuries.
A motive behind the maiming has not been released.
