Buford Gray Hutchins of Chadbourn passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024. He was born July 21, 1943 to the late Buford Neal Hutchins and Alta Swaim Hutchins. He was a 1971 graduate of NC State University where he obtained a Bachelors of Science in Applied Mathematics. He proudly served in the National Guard for ten years. He was employed by National Spinning from 1973-2012.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hutchins of the home; son, Scott Lewis Hutchins ( Lori Ann) of Wilmington NC; daughter, Shana Renee Hutchins of Waxhaw NC; grandchildren, Taylor Gray Hutchins, Lucas Hutchins Stewart and Salem Grace Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry Neal Hutchins and Robert Lewis Hutchins.
His funeral service will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 2:00pm at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nate Lynch officiating.
His family will receive friends one hour prior to his service at Peacock Funeral Home.
