News Briefs for December 10, 2024
The Whiteville Wolfpack has many students, staff, and families that will be traveling to attend the 5th round of the Eastern Regional Finals. Due to the large amount of community support and the need for traveling time, Schools will dismiss all students and staff at noon this Friday, December 13, 2024.
Lance Sandlin, Lori Angel Flowers, and Emily Sandlin have been indicted for murder and concealment of death. Lori Flowers was charged with accessory after the fact in addition to the charges. The four are charged in the case of Shanna Perry of Delco, whose body has not been recovered. Perry disappeared near her home April 26. She was pregnant at the time.
The Fair Bluff Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade is Saturday. Santa will be stopping by the visitor’s center from 4-5:30 pm for pictures with the kids. Festivities start at the Fair Bluff Visitor’s Center at 5:30 pm with tree lighting, followed by the parade at 6 p.m.
Tabor City Baptist Adult choir will present their Christmas Night of Worship Sunday at 6 p.m. A time of fellowship will follow. Everyone is welcome. Check out the list of Christmas events and the happenings in our Events Calendar.
Multiple law enforcement officers were involved in a chase down 410 to Rough and Ready Road Monday. Tonie Johnson Jr., age 37, of Shannon was charged with misdemeanor child abuse, possession of a stolen vehicle, drug charges and multiple traffic violations. We have reached out to officials for more on the case.
