Chadbourn Police are investigating after a man was shot in the leg Sunday. The victim was found on Jackson Street by CPD after a shotspotter call. He was transferred to Novant New Hanover with serious injuries.
A retired Robeson County principal is in jail under two million dollars bond on sex charges. Paul Nelson Locklear, 53, was arrested in Columbus County Saturday. He has been charged with sex by substitute parent, crime against nature and other felonies. He allegedly molested a foster child in his care over an extended period of time.
The Leesville Christmas Light Show is going on through January 5, Old Christmas. Since 2009, Corey Lee’s family has decorated their home at 7020 New Britton Highway with what may be the largest Christmas display in Columbus County. The Leesville Show is free. The lights are bright from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. daily. Please park on the shoulder of the road or in the driveway.

The drive-thru light show features over two million lights festively displayed along a two mile drive throughout the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex. Over 500 magical light displays, some up to 55 feet tall, have been custom made for The Great Christmas Light Show. Visitors will experience enchanting animated figures and holiday scenes where the lights will come to life.
