Peggy Crawford Bowers Seiden

February 4, 1947 – December 13, 2024

Peggy Crawford Bowers Seiden passed away peacefully on December 13th, 2024, at her home in North Myrtle Beach.

She was loved by her family and friends. Peggy was born on February 4. 1947 to the late Robert Crawford and Inez (PC) Worley. She was also preceded in death by her, brother Joseph Franklin Piver Jr., first husband Joe Bowers and second husband Bob Seiden.

She attended Chadbourn schools, Wingate University and Campbell University earning a degree in elementary education. Following college, she taught elementary school in Whiteville.

Peggy married Joe Bowers, and they had one daughter Mardi. After returning to
Chadbourn, they owned a shoe store for a time. Peggy was an avid Bridge player.
Following Joe’s death, she married Bob Seiden and the two lived in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
She and Bob enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends. Peggy loved Dachshund dogs
and would rescue cats that came to her home in Chadbourn.

An active and beloved member of the Major General Robert Howe chapter of DAR, Peggy served as Chapter Regent from 2007-2011.

She was incredibly involved in recognizing and serving Columbus County Veterans, especially those in nursing homes.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Columbus Memorial Park Cemetery in Whiteville with Pastor Willard McPherson officiating.

She is survived by her daughter Mardi Bowers Gause (Brent) of Whiteville, a niece Lisa Kay Piver, Lisa’s daughter T.J. Enzor, cousins David Worley, Jean Powell (Tommy), Marilyn Ballard (Harold), Richard Worley (Diane); and dear friends Louise Davis Thomas, Lynn and Pam Stone plus her many DAR sisters.

Peggy was a member of Piney Forest Baptist Church.
