Tabor Talk for Feb. 26

The 79th Annual Banquet was held this past week at The Todd House Wedding and Event Center.
We were blessed to have 105 guests in attendance. Everyone enjoyed the tasty meal prepared by Pam Byrd and Company. They also were all smiles and very attentive during a special presentation and also during the main address from our town manager, Josh Ward.
As published in last week’s edition of the Tabor-Loris Tribune, there were two very deserving ladies recognized for all they contribute to this chamber and to our community.
Congratulations to Erin Mincey, who was honored as the Outstanding Citizen of the Year. She was presented with a plaque and a medal. Erin goes above and beyond for her community and it does not go unnoticed.
We would like to also congratulate Charity Lovette on receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award. Charity volunteers at the GTC Chamber of Commerce office and at the N.C. Yam Festival office. She is always willing to serve the Tabor City community as well.
Officers for the 2025 year are Marylou Molina as President, Kandi Dill as Vice President, and Michelle Dudney as the Interim Treasurer. The Board of Directors are looking forward to a successful event-filled year.
We hope you have the following date saved: Saturday, April 5 is the Fifth Annual Spring Has Sprung Festival. Join us in downtown Tabor City from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. for the various vendors. Bring your children to see Flimsy the Clown and to enjoy other activities in the KidZone. There will be an entertainment stage, too.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. The fee to ride is only $25. Please help us grow this parade by participating.
We have a new chamber member that we will be welcoming with a ribbon cutting ceremony real soon so stay tuned.
